We first met Leah while on our first team build trip to Kenya in February 2021. She graciously walked us through her mud hut shelter, which were some of the worst conditions we had seen. With the Lord providing her with a new home she shared, “Every (rainy) season I pray that God will spare me from the falling walls. I will sleep like a baby now and not care who comes to the door. Having a bolted door is a miracle.” The day after Leah moved into her home, the former shelter fully collapsed from a storm (which is the last image in the slideshow).
During the home dedication Pastor Steve shared, “The church the family belongs to usually doesn’t even mix or greet other people… it’s a big deal for me to preach in that service and pray with them.” God continues to open doors in ways we can’t imagine, all for his glory! God’s timing is perfect and he always knows exactly what we need. Praying for the seeds that have been planted and that this home is a testament to that goodness to the surrounding community so others may come to know and experience the love of Jesus.
