A team of 12 people (10 adults, 2 kids) traveled from, literally, all over the world to come to Eburru, Kenya, with the goal of spreading the love of God through home building and to proclaim the gospel. We helped to paint and dedicate Monica’s home, work alongside the local team to move block for Martha’s home and broke ground and prayed over Esther’s new home. We also spent a lot of time at Camp Brethren School, encouraging and playing with the students but also spent a lot of time throughout the community doing home visits. Everyone was so kind and welcoming despite the fact that most of the homes could not fit our entire team. It is humbling to see such hospitality and grace from people you’ve never met. The team was challenged in many ways, but one specifically was, would we welcome a group of total strangers into our houses?
God is so good and it is humbling to join Him in His work in Kenya. It was an amazing first build trip! We are excited to see how the seeds that were planted grow, and for God’s glory to continue to shine throughout Eburru.
